Walking on well known paths

Last year we drove to the Perma Food Forest in Kafountine in Senegal with the students from the Rhema Abam School. That trip was to set an impulse for the developement of the school garden. The plan worked and the school garden in it´s now present form was build.

16 students from 5th and 6th grade were chosen and with them came teachers, who also taged along for the last excursion. Like Amadou Fofana who has made an name for himself for his work in the school garden.

Frieda, the founder and head of the forest garden, showed the kids around and patiently exlained the names of the plants, how the fields were created and how such a sustainably designed garden works, what it means to run agriculture in a regenerative way and which advantages forest gardens have.

The kids asked many questions, made records and drew pictures of their impression of the visit. After their work the kids enjoyed some time at the beach near the atlantik.
